Ottawa Public Health says it suspects the more contagious virus variants are part of an outbreak of COVID-19 that has closed Jonathan Pitre elementary school in Riverside South.
The variants of concern, which are spreading across Ontario, are suspected to have caused some of the multiple cases among students and staff at the school, OPH said in a letter to parents dated Friday.
