OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health is reporting 55 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Friday, the highest one-day COVID-19 case total this week. No new deaths linked to the virus were announced on Friday. Twenty-six of the 55 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Friday involved residents under the age of 30. Since the first case of COVID-19 in Ottawa on March 11, 2020, there have been 27,234 laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 574 deaths. The 55 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa is the highest one-day increase since 61 new cases were reported on Saturday. There were 40 cases in Ottawa on Thursday and 43 cases on Wednesday.

There are two new deaths linked to novel coronavirus in Ottawa. Twelve of the 40 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Thursday involve Ottawa residents under the age of 10. Since the first case of COVID-19 in Ottawa on March 11, 2020, there have been 27,179 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 574 deaths. The 40 new cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Thursday follows 43 new cases on Wednesday and 39 cases on both Monday and Tuesday. Across Ontario, there are 870 new cases of COVID-19. Health officials reported 225 cases in Toronto and 167 in Peel Region.
OTTAWA Ottawa Public Health is reporting fewer than 40 new COVID-19 cases for the second day in a row. The public health unit said Tuesday that 39 more people had tested positive for COVID-19, following a case count of 39 more positive tests on Monday. This comes as Ontario reported its lowest daily case count province-wide since last fall. Health officials recorded 699 new COVID-19 cases across Ontario on Tuesday, the lowest figure since Oct. 18, 2020, when 658 new cases were recorded. The Ministry of Health says 20,262 COVID-19 tests were completed in the past 24 hours across the province. Ontario also recorded 1,568 newly resolved cases on Tuesday and said nine more Ontarians had died due to COVID-19.
