It’s hard to know what’s more disheartening, cops shutting down a church for daring to meet or the fear-mongering scolds cheering it on. Worse, this is the second time in mere days that Canadian cops have attempted to intimidate a church for daring to meet with social distancing.

At dawn on Wednesday morning in Edmonton, Alberta – in an area that looks like it’s the middle of a prairie – Alberta Health Services police and cops with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) swarmed the GraceLife Church to cut off the building from its parishioners.

“I don’t know who this pastor is, but I kinda like him!” Reverend Franklin Graham says, praising the Canadian minister who verbally ousted police trying to shut down his service on Saturday.
“I appreciate his boldness and tenacity in standing up for the rights of his church when police showed up without a search warrant. You can watch his cell phone video here,” Rev. Graham tweeted Monday, linking to a Fox News report describing how Calgary Street Church Pastor Artur Pawlowski took on police trying to use coronavirus guidelines to put an end to an in-progress religious service.

A church in Alberta, Canada was raided by police this morning for remaining open against a local order telling the house of worship to close due to COVID-19. After the early morning raid, police erected barricades around the building and are refusing to let anyone on the property.
