Eicher Motors sells over 7000 CVs in March

VE Commercial Vehicles, an unlisted subsidiary of Eicher Motors, sold 7037 vehicles in March 2021 compared with 1499 vehicles sold in March 2020. Total domestic sales were at 6054 units in March 2021 as against 1409 units sold in March 2020. The company exported 816 vehicles during the month compared with 67 vehicles exported in the same period last year. Total Volvo Trucks & Buses sales stood at 167 units in March 2021 as against 23 units in March 2020. Eicher Motors is the listed parent of Royal Enfield, the global leader in middleweight motorcycles. Tata Motors gains after Q4 auto sales update

Tata Motors rose 1.06% to Rs 305.05 after the auto major s total sales in the domestic & international market for Q4 FY21 stood at 191,720 vehicles, up by 89.04% from 101,420 units sold during Q4 FY20. The company s total domestic sales have increased by 94% to 182,824 units in Q4 FY21 from 94,256 units in Q4 FY20. In March 2020, the Tata Group company sold 66,609 vehicles in the domestic market, as compared to 11,012 vehicles sold in March 2020. The company s total commercial vehicle (CV) sales (domestic + exports) were at 40,609 units in March 2021 as against 7,123 units in March 2020. Girish Wagh, president, commercial vehicles business unit, Tata Motors, said: Commercial vehicle domestic sale in Q4 FY21 at 98,966 units was 20% higher than the previous quarter, continuing its sequential growth. It was also higher by 59% over Q4 FY20.

In the utility vehicles (UVs) segment, M&M sold 16,643 vehicles in March 2021, compared with 3,111 vehicles in March 2020, registering a growth of 435% YoY (year-on-year). The passenger vehicles segment (which includes UVs, cars and vans) sold 16,700 vehicles in March 2021, recording a growth of 394% over 3,383 units during the same period last year. Total exports for the month of March 2021 were at 2,126 vehicles, up by 284% from 554 vehicles sold in the same period last year.
