Public hearing camps will be held at police stations here every Saturday between 4 pm and 6 pm, officials said on Friday.
The âJan Sunwaiâ camps will be organised by all Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) on Commissioner Balaji Shrivastavaâs directions to ensure speedy redressal of public grievances, they said.
Srivastava took additional charge as the commissioner on Wednesday after the retirement of incumbent SN Shrivastava.
He was earlier posted as Delhi Police s Special Commissioner (Vigilance).
A 1988-batch IPS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, he has previously worked as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Puducherry and Mizoram and Special Commissioner, Intelligence, Economic Offences Wing and Special Cell, Delhi.
(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Acting Inspector General of Police (I-G), Mr Usman Baba, has ordered the deployment of Mr Christopher Owolabi, as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the Police Command in Anambra.
The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr Frank Mba, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
The I-G also approved the deployment of other strategic and tactical commanders within the zones, two Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), 14 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and other mid-level officers.
Baba said the deployment of the new CP is part of the ongoing efforts to re-order, overhaul and strengthen the security and policing architecture in Anambra and other States in the South-East and South-South.

The deployment, the IGP said, was part of ongoing efforts at re-ordering, overhauling, and strengthening the security and policing architecture in Anambra, Southeast, and South-South regions.
The development may not be connected with the rising insecurity in the two zones, which has led to the killing of many people, including security personnel.

A new commissioner of police has been deployed to oversee the affairs of the Anambra State Police Command, police authorities said on Friday.
The new Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of Anambra is Mr Christopher Owolabi, said a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba.
The acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, ordered the posting of Owolabi to the state following the recent cases of violence in the state.
“The deployment of the new CP is part of the ongoing efforts at re-ordering, overhauling, and strengthening the security and policing architecture in Anambra State and other states of the south-east and south-south geo-political zones of the country.

The Krishna district police formed 20 shadow teams to check online transactions through various apps, during the municipal and urban local body elections scheduled on Wednesday.
“We are keeping a close vigil on the distribution of money through different apps. If any person passes us information, we will act on the complaint immediately. Special focus has been laid on distribution of money and liquor during the municipal elections,” said Superintendent of Police M. Ravindranath Babu.
