Saturday’s action starts at 10:15 a.m. with the continuation of the heptathlon, where Razorback Markus Ballengee is currently in second place, while running events begin at 12:30 p.m. The Ducks crushed their previous record set here a year ago with a 9:19.42 from the foursome of Cole Hocker, Luis Peralta, Charlie Hunter, and Cooper Teare. Shawn Price January 24, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A world record performance in the shot put on Sunday signaled the return of professional track and field on the University of Arkansas campus as Ryan Crouser’s first attempt inside the Randal Tyson Track Center measured 74 feet, 10.5 inches (22.82) to better a 32-year-old record. “It’s been a goal, but it’s almost more like a stepping stone to the outdoor world record,” noted Crouser, who in his second year as a volunteer assistant with the Razorbacks. “I’m kind of always looking forward. I’m really happy to throw an indoor PR and be so close to my outdoor PR in the very first meet of this season.

Nicole Fegans Breaks Women s 5K Indoor School Record – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Long distance runner Nicole Fegans broke the Georgia Tech women’s indoor 5K record on Saturday afternoon as she raced to a 16:06.50 finish at the Carolina Challenge in Columbia, S.C. Fegans mark of 16:06.50 shattered the previous top performance of 16:12.26 set by Renee Metivier in 2002. Her 5K time was nearly ten full seconds faster than her previous personal best of 16:16.28. During the final lap Fegans clocked in at just 33.73 seconds, the fastest mark in the 25th lap for the entire field. “Breaking the record today exceeded all expectations I had,” Fegans said. “Especially because this was just the second meet of the indoor season for me. All of my teammates cheering me on from the sidelines kept me going when it started to get really hard; I am lucky to have them. I am excited to see what is to come the rest of the season and cannot wait to see what the rest of the ladies are capable of!”

School record by Banks, sub-4 for Kemboi highlight Wooo Pig Classic

Shawn Price January 22, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Another team victory for the Razorbacks during the Wooo Pig Classic on Friday featured a school record by freshman thrower Ruben Banks and a sub-four-minute mile by Amon Kemboi at Randal Tyson Track Center. Arkansas totaled 113 points to top a field of national caliber teams which included Southern California (84), Kentucky (81.5), Texas (60.5), LSU (54), Missouri (24), and Oklahoma State (6). “We’re not really putting a line-up together to score maximum amount of points,” said Arkansas men’s coach Chris Bucknam. “It’s everyone’s second meet of the season, and everybody is kind of doing the same thing we are. We’re feeling out where kids are best at and not over doing it. It’s been a long time since we competed.
