The U.S. Marshals Service has caught a fugitive who was being pursued when an Anderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was hit by a vehicle on Saturday night, sending the deputy to the hospital, the ACSO said.
The fugitive, Jesse Duncan, 38, was captured Tuesday night near Harriman Highway by the U.S. Marshals Service, the ACSO said.
The deputy, Stephen Carroll, has been released from the hospital, and he is “recovering nicely,” the ACSO said.
“He is grateful for all of the thoughts and prayers from everyone,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

OLIVER SPRINGS, Tenn. Two people, including an Anderson County Sheriff s Office deputy, were hospitalized after a crash on Tri County Blvd. on Saturday night.
Tennessee Highway Patrol said around 10:40 p.m., ACSO Deputy Stephen Carroll was directing traffic while conducting a K-9 track.
A car driven by 38-year-old James Knox struck the deputy in the left lane, according to THP.

PALESTINE, Texas The Palestine Police Department executed search warrants at 6 different locations throughout Anderson County for illegal game rooms.
According to police, at 9 a.m. on Thursday April 29n investigators from the Palestine Police Department with assistance from Texas DPS and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office served search warrants.
The warrants were served at the following locations:
Jags #1 – 500 E. Palestine Ave.
Jags #2 – 3804 W. Oak
Pitt Stop – 1221 N. Link
Mini Mart – 321 W. Palestine Ave.
Lucky Star Grocery – 704 W. Palestine Ave.
