PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) - Law enforcement officers found cash, methamphetamine, cocaine, various pills and more than $10,000 in cash when they executed arrest warrants for two individuals.
At 6 p.m. Thursday, officers, as well as a SWAT team, Texas DPS troopers, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and DEA agents, raided residences in the 300 block of Joe Louis St. and the 200 block of Douglas Street. The execution of the warrants lead to the arrest of Lester Earl Anderson, 69, of Palestine and Charlotte Anderson, 55, of Palestine, inside one of the residences. Both were detained without incident.

An Oak Ridge man has been charged with a second robbery, this one of a gas station in Claxton.
Partridge, 43, had already been charged by the Oak Ridge Police Department this month with the robbery of J&C Market on East Tennessee Avenue in Oak Ridge.
Now, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has charged him with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and theft in the December 29 robbery of the Marathon gas station on Edgemoor Road in Claxton, a press release said. The felony warrants were obtained by Sheriff’s Office detective Josh Cardwell. Partridge reportedly brandished a firearm and demanded the Marathon employee empty the cash register, the press release said. He fled the scene with cash before deputies arrived, the release said. The Marathon employee was able to provide a physical description and a video recording showing the incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Dec. 15 A fatal motorcycle crash in South Carolina has been ruled a homicide after witnesses said the victim was forced off the road, officials say.
Timothy Cathey, 53, died at a hospital after colliding with a telephone pole around 4:41 p.m. Sunday, according to the Anderson County coroner s office.
Investigators say Cathey was the victim in a road rage incident in Anderson,about 120 miles northwest of Columbia. According to several witnesses, the victim s motorcycle was forced off the roadway resulting in the victim striking a telephone pole. The other vehicle then left the scene, the coroner s office said in a news release.

Workforce Solutions of East Texas wants to help more young adults overcome barriers when entering the job market. The agency is encouraging young workers to apply for CareerEDGE, a federal program that helps 15 to 20 local young adults develop skills and overcome barriers to employment each year.
