Who is new to the Stage Door family this week?
Asmeret Ghebremichael was last seen in London s West End production of Dreamgirls as Lorrell Robinson (IARA Award nomination). She also played Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon. Her Broadway credits include The Book of Mormon, Elf The Musical, Legally Blonde (Pilar), Spamalot, Wicked, and Footloose. Off Broadway, Asmeret appeared in In The Heights(Drama Desk Award), and was nominated for Lucille Lortel, Audelco, and Chita Rivera Awards for her portrayal as Nickie in Sweet Charity opposite Sutton Foster. The prize is awarded annually to a NATS member for the purpose of studying voice pedagogy and/or voice science.

Congratulations to
Lisa Sain Odom, the 2021 recipient of the Voice Pedagogy Award from the NATS Foundation. The $500 prize is awarded annually to a candidate who is a member of NATS for the purpose of study at a seminar or workshop on voice pedagogy and/or voice science. The selection was made by a committee of NATS Foundation board members.
The award will be applied toward Odom’s attendance at the Voice Pedagogy Institute, Rider University (July 26-30, 2021).

Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre remembers and celebrates one of their founding members MICHAEL JONES, who passed away a year ago. An Emmy winner and recipient of the Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Award, Michael was a co-founder and Artistic Associate at OKC Rep. While Michael was a pillar of the OKC theatre community, he also worked all over the country. Michael touched the lives and hearts of so many he worked with.
