Which top 25 Biglaw firm knew how to make its associates’ Valentine’s Day extra special this year? That would be Paul Hastings, a firm that brought in $1,268,910,000 gross revenue in 2019, landing it in the 24th spot on the most recent Am Law 100 ranking. If you recall, back in December 2020, the firm announced its year-end bonuses, and of course included special bonuses. Here’s the scale: At the time, those special bonuses were only available for “qualifying associates”, i.e., those who had billed enough. Associates were understandably very upset.

[Photo/IC] As few as 13.3 percent of interviewees from 13 industries in China said they would switch to another job because of an unsatisfying year-end bonus, according to a 2020 year-end bonus report from 51job, as the Securities Times reported on Thursday. 51job, a major human resources online platform, said in its report that 6.3 percent of interviewees had received the year-end bonus for 2020, while 58.6 percent were not sure whether they would get any bonus. Among those who believe they would receive the bonus, 66.1 percent expected to get it before Spring Festival, which starts Feb 12. But 13.4 percent of interviewees said they won t get any bonus for 2020.

The President issued Administrative Order No. 37 on December 8, 2020 authorizing local government units (LGUs) to grant a one-time SRI to government employees at a uniform rate of not exceeding P10,000, and shall be released not earlier than December 21.  In his order, Duterte said the administration recognizes the value and importance of government employees for their participation and contribution in the current efforts towards streamlining government procedures and in the delivery of public services. Those entitled to receive are employees who are occupying regular, contractual, or casual positions.
