Inland Rail to save $170 million annually in transport costs
Shifting to Inland Rail could save Australian producers, manufacturers and growers approximately $170 million in transport costs each year according to early results of a CSIRO supply chain analysis.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack welcomed the early release of findings from the CSIRO Inland Rail Supply Chain Mapping Study as further proof of the benefits Inland Rail will unlock across Australia.
“In regional Australia distances between communities and towns, and towns and cities are measured in more than miles and minutes – they’re measured in the cost of moving essential goods where and when people need them,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

This actually a play on Michael Shrimpton’s article, which is entitled “Israel hammers Hamas,” and which is completely devoid of historical facts and deep analysis about what has been doing on in the Middle East for the better part of sixty years.
Back in 2014, Shrimpton and I had a long discussion about similar issues, both at VT and via email messages.
