Evolution towards clean marine fuels and LNG
The new IMO 2020 regulations, which entered into force on 1 January 2020, mandate a maximum sulphur content of 0.5% in marine fuels globally. Consequently, sales of clean marine fuels (Ultra Low Sulphur Fuel Oil) are on the rise. On the other hand, these regulations have also driven the demand for alternative fuels such as LNG (liquefied natural gas).
