Oakland Technical High’s first Black male valedictorian reveals his college decision on KTVU  Published  OAKLAND, Calif. - Stand-out Oakland student 18-year-old Ahmed Muhammad had his choice of universities to choose from, as he was accepted to all 11 colleges he applied to, including Harvard and Princeton. But ultimately, the Oakland Technical High senior will remain in the Bay Area, as he s decided to go with his first choice dream school.   On Monday, Muhammad appeared on KTVU’s The Nine and announced his decision on live television. Oakland Technical High School’s first Black male valedictorian chooses Stanford Ahmed Muhammad joins KTVU s Mike Mibach on The Nine to reveal which college he s headed to. The entrepreneur, 5.0-GPA student, varsity basketball player was accepted to all 11 universities he applied to including Harvard, Princeton, and Stanford.

Teen Becomes First Black Male Valedictorian at Oakland High School

  An 18-year-old black teen made local history by becoming the first black male to graduate as valedictorian from Oakland Technical High School. Ahmed Muhammad earned the highest academic rank in his class, holding a 4.37 GPA. He is also an accomplished athlete and part of the school’s varsity basketball team. However, this is not the only impressive achievement this young man has under his belt. The student is also the founder of a science education company called Kits Cubed. The company, which was launched last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, creates affordable science kits for elementary and middle school-age kids.

Oakland Technical High senior to be school s first Black male valedictorian By Sharon Song OAKLAND, Calif. - When 18-year-old Ahmed Muhammad graduates from Oakland Technical High School next month, he will make history by becoming the school’s first Black male to be named valedictorian.   Oakland Technical H.S. senior, who founded science education company Kits Cubed, to be school s first Black male valedictorian, after being accepted to all 11 colleges to which he applied including Harvard and Stanford. (Ahmed Muhammad) Muhammad will be recognized with the distinction of having the highest academic rank in his class, finishing his four years at Tech with a cumulative 4.73 grade point average (on track for a 5.0 GPA for his senior year). In addition, he received a score of 1540 with a perfect 800 in the Math section and a 740 in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section.
