New Delhi: Amidst the onslaught of the second wave of COVID-19 Pandemic, banks are giving several facilities to their customers.
Bank Customers now don’t have to venture out to bank branches for a host of services, as they can avail them sitting at the comfort of their homes.
Although these services also come with a small fee, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced further delight for its customers. Punjab National Bank has reduced the charges of Doorstep Banking for its millions of customers.
Now PNB customers will have to pay only Rs 50 to get cash through Doorstep Banking. PNB has given the information about the reduction in charges through a tweet.

NEW DELHI: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a behavioural change in usage of cash with people withdrawing larger amounts from ATMs but preferring to make digital modes to make payments, said experts.
The ferocity of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic has scared people, forcing them to withdraw larger amounts from the ATMs with a view to avoid frequent visits. The money thus withdrawn is mostly held for emergency use and often payments are being made through UPI and other digital modes.

With the Common Service Centres (CSCs) accounting for over 25 per cent of all Aadhaar-Enabled Payment System (APES) transactions across the country, it has become the mainstay of India’s cashless payment system.
The average number of AEPS transactions being done by CSC ecosystem – DigiPay is about 1.8 crore transactions per month, which is more than 25 per cent of total transactions in the country. The total AEPS transactions during last year have been recorded at ₹10,764 crore through CSCs.
