NEW DELHI: YSRCP rebel MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju who is fighting tooth and nail to avoid jail, moved the Supreme Court for bail against the Andhra Pradesh High Court orders which refused to grant him bail after he was arrested on Sedition charges by the AP CID on Friday.
The Court on Monday while hearing his special leave petition allowed the medical examination of the MP to be conducted at the Army Hospital at Secunderabad in Telangana and stated that the expenses of the treatment must be borne by the MP himself.
A division bench of the SC comprising Justice Vineet Saran and Justice BR Gavai while passing the orders directed the officials to take him to the Army Hospital, Secunderabad, for examination and the same would be treated as judicial custody. A judicial officer who will be with the petitioner during the examination should be nominated by the Telangana High Court, it said in its order.
‘A probe will reveal the conspiracy behind the episode’
Accusing Narsapuram MP K. Raghu Ramkrishna Raju, who is facing sedition charges and hate speech, of enacting a drama to malign the State government, YSRCP Rajampet MP Peddyreddi Midhun Reddy has said that a detailed investigation would reveal the conspiracy behind the entire episode.
“The conspirators and instigators of the MP will be exposed soon,” Mr. Midhun Reddy, along with party MPs Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu and V. Balashowry, told the media at the YSRCP Central Party Office here on Monday.
Refuting the allegations of custodial violence made by the Narsapuram MP, Mr. Midhun Reddy pointed out that the medical board constituted by the Andhra Pradesh High Court found no new injuries on the body of Mr. Ramkrishna Raju.
