Biennial election to Legislative Councils of Andhra, Telangana to be held on March 14 ANI | Updated: Feb 11, 2021 14:41 IST New Delhi [India], February 11 (ANI): The biennial election to Legislative Councils of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from Graduates and Teachers constituencies to be held on March 14, said the Election Commission on Thursday. According to the poll body, the term of four members (two each) from Legislative Councils of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is expiring on March 29, 2021. The term of office of two members of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council from Teachers Constituencies and two members of the Telangana Legislative Council from Graduates Constituencies is expiring on 29 March 2021, the ECI said.

The elections are necessitated as the tenures of TDP Teachers’ Constituency MLCs A.S. Ramakrishna (Krishna - Guntur) and Ramu Surya Rao (East & West Godavari) will come to an end on March 29. Notification for the elections will be issued on February 16 and nominations have to be filed by February 23. Scrutiny of nominations will be done on February 24, and February 26 is the last date for withdrawing the nominations.
