1k ‘darshanam’ tickets to be sold in APSRTC buses to Tirupati

Amaravati, Feb 4 : The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has teamed up with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to make available up to 1,000 ‘darshanam’ (deity visit) tickets to devotees reaching the famous temple on its buses for convenience.
“Along with the fare, people who reach Tirupati on APSRTC buses can pay an additional Rs 300 in the bus itself and buy the darshanam tickets,” APSRTC vice-chairman and managing director R.P. Thakur said on Thursday.
Thakur said darshanam via this arrangement will be available two times a day, at 11 a.m. and at 4 p.m., and once the devotees reach the Tirumala bus station, they will be helped by the road transport corporation’s supervisors.

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has informed that devotees can purchase tickets for darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) temple in Tirumala along with the Chennai-Tirumala bus tickets. The tickets would be available at Madhavaram bus station with effect from February 1, 2021, and also online in the APSRTC website. The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has planned to create facilities for the bus crew members in Hyderabad.
ARSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director R. P. Thakur on Sunday inspected the existing facilities at the BHEL bus station in Hyderabad. He, along with, RTC Executive Director (Operations) K.S. Brahmananda Reddy, Executive Director (Engineering) Krishna Mohan, Chief Civil Engineer Sreenivas and other officials, inspected the 2.25 acre facility and discussed how best the property could be improved.

Sankranti earnings fell from ₹22 cr. in 2020 to ₹13 cr. this time in State: official
Even as the cases are on the decline, the impact of the pandemic continues to be felt on many sectors. Bearing the brunt is the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(APSRTC), which, despite the festive season, has reported a sharp decline in revenues this Sankranti compared to last year.
While the corporation had earned ₹22 crore in the State during Sankranti holidays in 2020, it has registered ₹13 crore this time. In Anantapur, the RTC operated 108 buses earning ₹37.09 lakh compared to last year’s ₹1.16 crore.
