AP Village Volunteers Get Busy With Distribution Of Pension and Ration Mar 01, 2021, 12:53 IST
AMARAVATI: Even as the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission on Sunday directed all District Collectors to keep the ward volunteers away from the election process for the urban local body polls scheduled for March 10, the village and ward volunteers are in the process of distributing the monthly pension and ration for the people in the State.
The distribution of pension amount under the YSR Pension Kanuka has commenced across the State from Monday morning. By 9.30 AM, 62.27 per cent of pensions have been disbursed, where more than 38.23 lakh people have received pension so far.

Amaravati, Feb 15 : The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) on Monday issued a notification to resume the stalled electoral process for 87 urban local bodies, including 12 municipal corporations, with voting slated to be held on March 10.
The notification pertains to the resumption of the electoral process with respect to 12 MCs as well as 75 nagar panchayats in 13 districts from the stage of withdrawal of candidature .
State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar said: With the issuance of the notification, Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the urban areas of Andhra Pradesh from Monday. It shall remain in force till the completion of the election process.

VIJAYAWADA: The State Election Commission on Monday issued notification for the elections to 12 municipal corporations and 75 municipalities/nagar panchayats in Andhra Pradesh.
Elections will be held on March 10 and counting will take place on March 14.
It must be noted that the election process for these Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) had to be stopped mid-way in March, last year due to the Covid pandemic.
