Dutch Dredging, a medium size dredging company based in Sliedrecht in the Netherlands, has been busy lately dredging sediments from the St. Johns Harbour, Antigua Island.

The work on this project started in 2020 and will continue throughout 2021. For the project, the company is using the 2800 m3 hopper dredger Elbe, which is is mainly active in the Caribbean and South America.
With a continued focus from international organisations on promoting gender equality around the world, Antigua Sailing Week (A.S.W.) has worked with the Antigua and Barbuda Sailing Association (A.B.S.A) and the Antigua and Barbuda Marine Association (A.B.M.A.) to pioneer a mentorship program to encourage girls and women to consider the sport and business of sailing.
The programme’s objective is to develop pathways and generate opportunities for women in the sport and industry of sailing in Antigua and Barbuda.
President of Antigua Sailing Week, Alison Sly-Adams said, ‘When we devised the programme we looked at existing successful mentorship programmes worldwide and in particular the Magenta Project. The programme focuses on performance sailing and although eventually we would love to see more women in racing we decided that the Antigua and Barbuda programme needed to be broadened to include recreational sailing and additionally to invite women

This publication of Wisden’s started in 1863 and is published annually. When it celebrated 100 years of publication in 1963, the West Indies (WI) were touring England. In honour of this, Wisden’s publishers donated a trophy to be presented to the winner of the West Indies and England Test series, for them to hold until the next encounter.
For next year’s Test clash between the two countries in the WI, there will no longer be a Wisden trophy. It has been replaced by the Sir Vivian Richards/Lord Botham trophy in honour of the two great friends who met when Richards joined the playing staff of the Somerset County Cricket Club in 1974. Their bond has been strong and unbreakable over the years. Plus they were both captains of their respective countries Test tea

There are no resorts, no beaches, no amenities, and its contribution to the national GDP is practically zero. Yet the mile-long rocky isle of Redonda in the Caribbean Sea is deemed one of the most valuable spots in the region.
Virtually untouched by humans for centuries, Antigua and Barbuda s lesser known third island has long been a key nesting site for migrating birds from across the world and home to wildlife found nowhere else on Earth.
When environmentalists first touted the idea of entirely removing thousands of invasive black rats and a herd of feral goats which were threatening to wipe them out, it seemed ambitious at best.
