GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run late Wednesday night in Grand Rapids.
It happened about 10:30 p.m. near Michigan Avenue and Division Street, according to a news release Thursday.
Police and medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The vehicle that hit the victim was described by a witness as a white SUV.
Investigators believe the vehicle is a white Nissan Rogue manufactured between 2013-2019.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Slidell Police are investigating a fatal hit and run that they say occurred Sunday evening.
According to police, the body of the victim was found late Monday morning in a ditch near the Katore Body and Automotive Center.
It is believed that the victim was walking along the East I-10 Service Road late Sunday evening when the victim was struck by a vehicle.

GRANITEVILLE, Staten Island (WABC) An arrest has been made in a deadly hit and run on Staten Island that killed a 68-year-old woman and left her husband gravely injured.
Police arrested 18-year-old Prince Nesbitt-Hall, of New Jersey, who allegedly fled on foot after T-boning a Mercedes at Lamberts Lane and Elson Street in the Graniteville section around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Kauser Akhund was killed, and her 70-year-old husband remains in critical condition with severe head trauma and bleeding on the brain.
