Many school districts have faced staffing shortages due to positive Covid-19 cases and mandatory quarantines.
Onondaga County
Skaneateles School District: Students in grades 8 to 12 will be remote until Jan. 4. Kindergarten students will learn remote until Dec. 14 while grades 1 to 7 will be remote until Dec. 14.
Jordan-Elbridge Central School District: The district announced Sunday that it will go fully remote from Dec. 14 to 23. The district will reopen to in-person instruction after winter break on Jan. 4.

The Port Byron Central School District is going remote through the holiday break.
They say students will be welcomed back on January 4th – when the District hopes to ‘reset’.
“Due to ongoing staffing issues with quarantines and the increasing spread of COVID-19 in the community, Port Byron Schools will be utilizing remote instruction until January 4th,” the district said in a Facebook Post. “During this time we will continue to transport students to vocational, BOCES and private schools that remain open.”
The Auburn Enlarged City School District recently shut down all aspects of its operation due to staffing issues connected to quarantines and COVID-19.
