Auberge Resorts Collection, the award-winning portfolio of one-of-a-kind luxury hotels, resorts and residences, announced it will manage The Hearst Hotel, Auberge Resorts Collection, a piece of history in the heart of San Francisco. The downtown property is part of Auberge Resorts Collection’s ongoing strategic expansion into city centers and its commitment to the long-term vibrancy and culture of downtown San Francisco. The Hearst-owned building, a 1911 landmark which is being redeveloped by leading San Francisco real estate investment and development firm, JMA Ventures, will be reborn as The Hearst Hotel, Auberge Resorts Collection. The hotel, in this iconic building with more than a century of fascinating stories to tell, will redefine luxury and inspire a new experience in the City by the Bay when it opens in 2023.
The 13-story property, located at the corner of Market Street and Third Street, will be reborn as a 150-room hotel, housing amenities like a spa, a restaurant and rooftop bar and various social spaces.
According to Auberge, the Hearst Hotel is part of the company s ongoing strategic expansion into city centers.
The luxury hospitality group most recently debuted the Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection in Austin, Texas, and Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection in Hawaii. The company also plans to open a total of six new hotels this year, including properties in Santa Fe, N.M.; Los Olivos and Napa Valley, Calif.; Riviera Maya and Punta de Mita, Mexico; and Costa Rica.

Travel + Leisure, which reaches an audience of more than 30 million globetrotters, has released its 16th annual list of the world’s best new hotels of the year, with two Austin establishments the only Texas properties noted among the list’s North American callouts. Austin’s Commodore Perry Estate, the 10-acre lavish property originally built in 1928 as the country home of Nannie Lewette “Lutie” and Commodore Edgar Perry, is now part of the Auberge Resorts Collection hotel portfolio, which boasts 19 hotels and resorts on three continents and upgraded the historic Austin property with an additional three-story building.
