Hemet man, 25, pleads not guilty to Apple Valley carjacking Victorville Daily Press A 25-year-old Hemet man pleaded not guilty Tuesday to carjacking, stalking and other felony charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at a 50-year-old woman and took her vehicle in Apple Valley last week. In Victorville Superior Court, Robert Garcia also denied several enhancements and also pleaded not guilty to making criminal threats, being a felon in possession of a firearm and preventing or dissuading a victim from reporting, court records show. Deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff s Station responded at approximately 7:20 p.m. Friday to the 12000 block of Standing Bear Road to the carjacking report, the sheriff s department said Tuesday.

Texas fugitive arrested in Apple Valley on attempted murder charge Victorville Daily Press Authorities announced Tuesday that deputies in Apple Valley arrested 19-year-old Cody Dupnik, a fugitive in Texas, on suspicion of the attempted murder of a 23-year-old man.  Officials with the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station reported that at approximately 6:56 p.m. Saturday, deputies were dispatched to the 20000 block of Wisconsin Street regarding a stabbing.  Deputies at the scene found that the suspect, later identified as Dupnik, of Spring Branch, Texas, had stabbed an unidentified 23-year old man twice in the neck during an argument, the report said. Dupnik and the victim are acquaintances and were at a residence near Deep Creek and Rock Spring roads when the attack took place, officials said. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Head-on crash kills 2 on Bear Valley Road in Apple Valley Victorville Daily Press A man and woman were killed Wednesday night in a head-on crash in Apple Valley that left two others injured, including a 4-year-old girl. The San Bernardino County Sheriff s Department only identified the deceased as a 54-year-old man who was driving a Toyota Camry and a 26-year-old woman who was driving a Ford Taurus. Emergency personnel responded to the crash shortly after 10:40 p.m. on Bear Valley Road, west of Multnomah Road. Authorities said they believed the Ford was traveling westbound on Bear Valley when, “for an unknown reason, the Taurus crossed over the two-way left turn lane and into the eastbound lanes of Bear Valley Road.”

Apple Valley man dies after being struck by two vehicles on Highway 18 Victorville Daily Press A 55-year-old Apple Valley man was struck and killed by two vehicles on Highway 18 early Tuesday morning. The man was only identified as being of Asian descent in a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department statement. According to the sheriff’s department, emergency personnel responded shortly after midnight to an area of the highway east of Rancherias Road in Apple Valley. Video taken at the scene shows that the incident occurred near the Taco Bell in a shopping center that also houses a Walmart, O Reilly Auto Parts, McDonald s and Albertsons Grocery.
