Jared Brossett qualifies to run for City Council on July 18, 2018.
District D Councilman Jared Brossett almost has as much cash on hand in his campaign account than all the other council members combined. Brossett, who is term limited and expected to run for an at-large City Council position later this year, reported $103,471.61 in available dollars on his 2020 annual campaign finance report, which was filed last week.
The other five City Council members (excluding newly appointed at-large member Donna Glapion) show a total of approximately $116,000 in available dollars.
Brossett started 2020 with $102,178 in the bank and took in $1,750 during the year. Though his only donation in 2020 was to St. Augustine Church, Brossett’s 2019 expenditures included Biden for President, Kamala Harris for the People, JBE for Louisiana Leadership PAC and the McDonogh 35 Alumni Association.
The higher than average temperatures and moisture will stick around for the start of the week with overnight lows only falling into the 60s and daytime highs in the upper 70s. Rain chances remain higher as well.
Report: Man with COVID-19 symptoms dies after United Airline flight makes emergency landing at MSY (Source: Jeff Chiu) By Tiffany Baptiste | December 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM CST - Updated December 18 at 2:49 PM
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A man with COVID-19 symptoms died Monday after a United Airlines flight heading to Los Angeles was forced to make an emergency landing at Armstrong International Airport, according to a report from USA Today.
United flight 591 left Orlando Friday night when a passenger suffered a medical emergency. The flight made an emergency landing at MSY and the passenger was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Southwest Airlines has announced it will add more flights from New Orleans to Houston, already one of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport s most popular destinations.
Starting in April, Southwest will start four daily nonstop flights each way from New Orleans to Houston s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Southwest already flies direct several times a day from New Orleans to Houston s smaller airport, William P. Hobby (HOU).
The flights to Bush Intercontinental expand the number of connections Southwest travelers from New Orleans can make. While Houston-Hobby is a Southwest hub, Houston-Bush has significantly more international connections, including long-haul routes on other carriers.
