12 DALLAS – It matters where you shop, and shopping at the Army & Air Force Exchange Service makes a difference for Soldiers, Airmen, Guardians, retirees, Veterans and military families.
Whether shopping in main stores, Expresses or malls, shoppers make their community stronger. 100% of Exchange earnings are returned to the military community, included through funding budget-constrained Quality-of-Life programs such as Child, Youth and School Services; Armed Forces Recreation Centers; and more without burdening American taxpayers. In the last 10 years, the Exchange has generated $2.1 billion for military Quality-of-Life programs.
Online shoppers support the community, too. For those who prefer contactless shopping, the Exchange offers several options:
Starting last week, Department of Defense and Coast Guard civilian employees can now shop in-store at the Exchange.
The DOD announced the policy change last month and it took effect May 1. Later this year, those same individuals will be able to shop online at shopmyexchange.com.
According to an Army & Air Force Exchange Service spokesperson, expanding access for these services will improve dividends to quality of life programs and increase the military exchangesâ buying power.
âShopping the Exchange brings convenience to civilians working on installations,â Exchange Director and CEO Tom Shull said in a press release. âThey can stop by the Exchange for essentials on breaks or to and from work instead of shopping outside of the gate â and 100% of Exchange earnings go right back to the military community.â
After a change in Department of Defense policy, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service is opening its doors to DoD and Coast Guard civilian employees at Fort Hood, starting May 1. The DoD announced the policy change April 29. Access to ShopMyExchange.com will start later this year.
Opening exchange access to DoD and Coast Guard civilian employees working on installations will improve dividends to quality-of-life programs, leverage the military exchangesâ buying power and strengthen the Exchange benefit for Soldiers, Airmen and Guardians âpast, present and future. Â
