A California man has been convicted of murder after he killed his wife Christmas morning 2011, propped her dead body on a couch, put sunglasses on her, and then had her children open their Christmas presents in front of her, Orange County prosecutors said. The man had previously spent time in jail for beating his wife, prosecutors said.

Man Convicted of Murder After Killing Wife, Propping Body on Couch During Christmas
An Anaheim man was convicted of second-degree murder April 7 for killing his wife on Christmas Day in 2011, then propping her body on a couch while her children opened presents.
William Wallace, 39, was originally indicted with one felony count of murder in 2012 by a grand jury. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 4, where he faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Wallace had previously been jailed for beating his wife, 26-year-old Zazell Preston.
The couple had gone to a neighbor’s Christmas Eve party the night before the slaying, and after returning home, began to argue.
