State works with FEMA to bring vaccines to sites
State vaccination efforts are at a slight standstill after the Johnson and Johnson vaccine was put on hold.
ORLANDO, Fla. - State vaccination efforts are at a slight standstill due to the Johnson & Johnson vaccines being put on hold. Now sites plan to switch back to the first doses of the Pfizer vaccine.but there s an issue.
Officials say they are not quite sure when those doses will arrive.
For now, they will continue to only give out second doses while some of the logistics are worked out. The hope is to have first doses of the Pfizer vaccine available next week, assuming the CDC and FDA have not given further guidance on whether they can go back to administering the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Orange County leaders are taking action to urge people to get vaccinated.
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Orange County leaders are taking action to urge people to get vaccinated.
Experts say even if one vaccine is put on hold, there are two other options. Orange County plans to announce a major vaccine hesitancy program on Wednesday. This will be a public-private partnership to get our residents vaccinated, said Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings.
The partnership with the Florida Department of Health, City of Orlando, Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando among several other groups plan to announce the campaign together.

Orange County is launching its mobile COVID-19 vaccination program for people in underserved communities. The first site in the mobile COVID-19 vaccination program will open at Barber Park on Monday. Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings (@OCFLMayor) April 8, 2021
Residents 16 and older can get the Pfizer vaccine Monday through Friday at the site. Up to 1,000 doses will be available each day.
