And just like peanut butter and jelly make for a familiar combo, so did Williams and Johnson.
âWe did a lot of stuff together,â Johnson said. âHe clowned on me and I clowned on him.â
When Johnson graduated from Clemson University, he returned to Orangeburg and worked as the wide receivers coach at Bethune-Bowman High School.
Williams worked there, too, as the defensive backs coach.
They coached together for a year before Johnson took another job.
Johnson said Williams has worked in the local school district since.
He was most recently Brookdale Elementary Schoolâs parent liaison and in the computer lab.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Officials with the Orangeburg County School District have announced they will be returning to virtual learning following Winter Break.
Students will begin virtual learning on Tuesday, January 5, 2021
District leaders anticipate that some in-person instruction through a hybrid model will be available beginning Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
Families who would like to enroll their children in Orangeburg Online and remain fully virtual for the spring semester are encouraged to complete
enrollment information to secure their child’s place.

COLUMBIA, S.C. On Monday, the S.C. Department of Education (SCDE) announced that it will provide $84,264,890 in additional federal Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) funding to all public schools districts and special schools to support reopening efforts.
The funding can be used for four specific purposes, including safety measures and personal protective equipment, hiring of school nurses, hiring of staff to provide one-on-one instruction and support services for struggling students, and technology equipment to support online learning.

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. 75 students in Orangeburg County will are receiving new bikes for Christmas, thanks to the generosity of others.
Ruby Edwards, who is a school board member with Orangeburg County School District, headed up the effort. What can I do to help the children? Edwards asked. This is what I came up with.
Edwards says this is her second time donating gifts to students joining the school board. She says she hopes the bikes will get the kids away from computer screens since the recent surge in positive COVID-19 cases has forced the school district to move to learn 100 percent online
Orangeburg County School District 2021 seniors will once again have graduation ceremonies at their high school football fields with limited ticketing and seating to account for the coronavirus. At this time there are no venues that are really renting out any facilities due to COVID-19 and we are at the point now where we need to start preparing for graduation for this coming June, Ombudsman/Assistant to the Superintendent Dr. Jesse Washington told trustees during their Dec. 8 meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Shawn Foster said the district reached out to South Carolina State University about hosting a district-wide graduation event but due to COVID, the university is not renting out its facilities.
