It will only take around 30 minutes for customs personnel to facilitate the entry of imported vaccine supplies in the country, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said Monday.

In a meeting with President Duterte and other officials, Galvez reported that the Bureau of Customs (BOC) has established a “one-stop shop” to process the release of the vaccine shipment upon arrival in the country.
The imported vaccines will be inspected quickly while they are inside the aircraft, according to Galvez.

NEARLY 24.7 million Filipinos, or about 23 percent of the population, will receive the free vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) first.
Among them are the frontline health workers, senior citizens, indigent population and the uniformed personnel, Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said.

After pioneering successive coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing innovations in the country such as the research on Pooled Swab Testing and the ongoing research on Saliva-Based Testing and Pooled Saliva-Based Testing, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion, thanked the Department of Health led by Secretary Francisco Duque for signing the Interim Guidelines on the Conduct of COVID-19 Pooled Testing in the country.

“Now, the most important thing is that testing will be faster, and the capacity will increase. Pool testing is efficient as it would bring the cost to around 750 pesos in the pool of 5, versus 750 for only one individual,” Concepcion noted.
