DOH to conduct COVID-19 vaccine simulation exercise

(Photo by Andrej ISAKOVIC / AFP) In a virtual press briefing, DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire explained the process once the vaccines arrived here.  “From the airport, it will undergo clearance from the Bureau of Customs (BOC), it will be very fast and then we will be loading the vaccines,” she said. “We have transport  vehicles that were already assigned,” she added.  Vergeire said based on the plan, the transportation of the vaccines from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) warehouse in Muntinlupa City will be 20 minutes. Once at RITM, she said, the vaccines will be inspected 

Malasakit Center program marks 3rd anniversary, 100th center launched

Three years after the launching of the first Malasakit Center in the Philippines, the one-stop service of government services focused on healthcare and medical financial assistance has reached another milestone. The 100th Malasakit Center opened its doors at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City on Feb. 2. This is the 54th Malasakit Center in Luzon. There are 22 centers in the Visayas and 24 in Mindanao. Sen. Christopher Lawrence Bong Go, Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Sec. Michael Lloyd Dino, and the officials of the hospital and the local government unit attended the launching. Over the past three years, Malasakit Center has served more than two million Filipinos nationwide, majority of those experienced a zero-balance billing in their hospital bills.
