April 16, 2014 Researchers at Northwestern University analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes in a pilot study. They found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in important brain structures that could lead to substantial problems in brain development and behavior. A recent poll conducted by NPR, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation found more than half of households in the U.S.’s biggest cities are experiencing serious financial problems, and two-thirds in rural areas report the same.
