The Record San Joaquin County will not be moved just yet from the restrictive purple tier into the more relaxed red tier, despite both state and local health officials predicting last week the county would soon see additional COVID-19 restrictions eased. The California Department of Public Health released a statement Friday saying that San Joaquin County and 12 other counties   Diego, Kings, Lake, Monterey, Riverside, Santa Barbara, Sutter, Tehama, Tulare, Ventura and Yuba  would likely shift from purple to red on Tuesday based on current data and projections, with the tier adjustments scheduled to take affect Wednesday.  The county s COVID-19 Joint Information Center said in a statement Tuesday that public health officials were notified the county would remain in the purple tier of California s color-coded reopening plan late Monday.
