PM: home-grown vaccines must ensure safety, efficiency
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed speeding up the production of home-grown vaccines, saying they must ensure safety and efficiency.
He gave the direction during a working session with leaders of ministries, vaccine producers and scientists in Hanoi on July 23 to discuss the research and production of COVID-19 vaccines.
Speaking at the event, Chinh stressed that Vietnam is rolling out “vaccine strategy”, including importing; studying, facilitating vaccine production technology transfer and producing home-grown vaccines; and vaccinating the whole population for free.

Tropical depression located about 110km from Mong Cai City
At 7am on July 22, the centre of a tropical depression was located on the mainland south of Guangxi Province (China), about 110km east-northeast of Mong Cai City in Quang Ninh Province, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF).
The strongest winds near its centre were at 40-50 km/hour, with shock at level 8.
Over the next 24 hours the tropical depression will move southwest at a speed of about 5km per hour.

One of the important parts of the agenda of the 15th National Assembly (NA)’s first session is the election and approval of 50 people to head state agencies in the 2021-2026 term.
NA’s General Secretary Bui Van Cuong said that most of the personnel introduced to these positions are re-elected.
These include President and Vice President. The two current positions President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan were elected by the 14th NA last April.
Regarding the cabinet, Head of the NA Standing Committee s Board for Deputy Affairs Nguyen Thi Thanh said 27 people will be elected, including one PM, four Deputy PMs, 18 Ministers and 4 heads of ministerial-level agencies.
