Asked whether it was safe for unvaccinated workers to be attending the site, Ms Sloane said public health officials assured her there would be no risk as long as all hygiene protocols were followed.
“If we said to all of our unvaccinated staff don’t come to work, then there’d be no one to care. And that’s not just us, that’s every aged care business across Australia and every hospital across Australia.”

Kathie Melocco, whose parents were transferred to hospital after her father tested positive, told 2GB on Monday morning families weren’t told staff were unvaccinated.

Two aged care residents are among 35 new local cases recorded in New South Wales, with the state recording a spike in infections on Monday.
The number of infections linked to existing clusters stands at 33, with 20 considered household contacts.
Of the 35 new cases, 24 were in isolation during their infectious period, with 11 people out and about in the community.
The number of cases linked to the Bondi outbreak has now grown to 312, with four patients currently receiving treatment in intensive care.

SYDNEY, July 5 (Xinhua) Authorities of the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) said compliance is key to a smooth exit from the two-week lockdown, as 35 locally acquired COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday.
Of these local cases recorded in the past 24 hours as of 8:00 p.m. local time Sunday night, 33 were linked to previously confirmed cases or clusters, among which 20 were household contacts, and the source of infection for two cases remained under investigation. Two new overseas-acquired cases were recorded in the same period.
NSW Health said among the 35 cases, 24 were in isolation throughout their infectious periods and four cases were in isolation for part of their infectious period. Seven cases were infectious in the community.
