One new case recorded overnight, locally acquired and detected in home quarantine.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said the single person who tested positive has the Alpha variant, was asymptomatic and had been in home quarantine during their entire infectious period.
Remember if you have any symptoms whatsoever, please come and get tested.
The new coronavirus case is perfectly well , complicating the process of identifying how long she has been infectious.
The woman is a student nurse, but she has been on holidays since June 15 and hasn t done a clinical placement since then. She did visit for one hour to talk to a patient on 28 June, Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said. At that stage, there was already a mask requirement.

WORLD COVID-1942 minutes ago Covid-19: NSW records 35 new community cases Monday, July 5, 2021 RNZ
Premier Gladys Berejiklian says New South Wales (NSW) has recorded 35 new locally acquired Covid-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday.
Twenty-four of those were in isolation for their infectious period.
Seven were in the community while infectious.
Berejiklian said she was pleased that the majority of today s cases had been in isolation, but household contacts remained a concern. I can say that the lockdown certainly has been effective in not doubling and tripling the figures that we were worried about, she said. Thirty-three cases are linked to a known case or cluster and 20 of these are household contacts. Again, highlighting the risk within households.
