Families in Queensland have been left devastated after a major miscommunication over hotel quarantine requirements.
Last Friday Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk had announced Queensland would reopen to New Zealand from 1am after the country reached 28 days with no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19.
Chief Health Officer Dr Jeanette Young clarified the first quarantine-free flight to arrive in Queensland from New Zealand was due on Wednesday as other flights booked before the announcement contained passengers from other countries.
