An Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft IL-76 on Saturday morning airlifted two cryogenic oxygen containers from Jakarta, Indonesia, and landed at Andhra Pradesh s Visakhapatnam as India continues to handle shortage of life-saving gas, oxygen, to treat critical coronavirus patients in the country.
According to a press release, an IAF C17 is bringing two oxygen generators from Bordeaux, France to the Hindan Airbase.

NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor attacked Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Sunday over his remarks that no fresh COVID-19 cases have been detected in 180 districts in the last seven days, saying it is sad to see the health minister occupy an alternative reality while the nation gasps for breath .

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor criticised Health Minister Harsh Vardhan today over his remarks that no new COVID-19 cases have been detected in 180 districts in the last seven days, saying it is sad to see the health minister occupy an alternative reality while the nation gasps for breath .
In his virtual address at the 25th meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Saturday to discuss the pandemic situation, Mr Vardhan said 180 districts have showed no fresh cases in the last seven days, 18 districts reported no cases in 14 days, 54 districts reported no infections in 21 days and 32 districts were bereft of any fresh cases in the last 28 days.

Public health researchers on Sunday asked Health Minister Harsh Vardhan to present evidence after he asked people to have dark chocolate with 70 percent cocoa content to beat COVID-19 related stress.
Anant Bhan, a bioethics researcher who works out of Pune and Bhopal, asked the minister “where is the evidence in COVID context?”
Vardhan’s tweet suggesting a range of foods including dark chocolate to boost immunity and beat stress also urged people to have vegetables and fruits to increase their vitamin and mineral content.
