Lockdown in Uttar Pradesh extended till May 11 morning
UP Lockdown News: The Uttar Pradesh government has extended curfew-like lockdown in the entire state till Monday (May 10) morning to tide over the Covid-19 crisis. The restrictions were set to be lifted tomorrow morning. All shops and establishments will now remain closed till Monday 7 am.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath. The meeting was attended by Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh and top government officials. This is the third extension of lockdown-like curfew in the country s most populous state. The corona curfew from Friday 8 pm to Tuesday 7 am, which was extended on May 3 for 48 hours and is in force till May 6 till 7 am has been further extended till Monday (May 10) 7 am, an official spokesman said, adding that further decision to extend the curfew will be taken on Sunday.
Yogi replaces âTeam 11â with âTeam 9â to tackle Covid, brings in ministers to take charge
The previous team only had civil servants in it. In the new team, all the nine members have been assigned different responsibilities to tackle the pandemic in the state.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Friday disbanded his âTeam 11â consisting of civil servants, who have been tackling the Covid-19 pandemic since the past one year.
The CM replaced the team with âTeam 9â at a meeting of senior officials and ministers.
The development comes in the wake of the âTeam 11â drawing severe flak for its inability to handle the Covid crisis in the state.

In a significant development, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided that all eligible people above 18 years of age will be vaccinated for free from May 1 in government hospitals.
The decision came after a virtual meeting of the Council of Ministers under the chairmanship of UP CM Yogi Adityanath to discuss the situation of coronavirus in the state has ended.
