THE Government has declared war on obesity by banning promotions for unhealthy food in supermarkets and restaurants.
Offers such as “buy one get one free” deals for sweets and cakes are set to be scrapped.

Free refills in restaurants, like Nando’s popular bottomless fizzy drink selection, would also end.
Changes will be made law by April 2022, the Department of Health and Social Care said.
Promotions of unhealthy foods restricted from April 2022
Promotions on food and drinks high in fat, salt or sugar (HFSS) in retailers will be restricted from April 2022, the government has confirmed today.
