CHANDIGARH: The Centre has chosen Punjab to conduct a dry run of COVID-19 vaccine on December 28 and 29, state Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said here on Thursday. The districts of Ludhiana and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar have been selected for the dry run, he said in an official statement here.

Balbir Singh Sidhu said the dry run for Covid-19 vaccine will be conducted in the districts of Ludhiana and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar on December 28 and December 29. The districts of Ludhiana and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar have been selected for the dry run, Balbir Singh Sidhu said on Thursday, news agency PTI.

CHANDIGARH: Eight passengers travelling on London-Amritsar flight of Air India have tested positive for COVID-19 on arrival, they have been sent to the isolation facility.
Sources said 242 passengers and 10 crew members were on board the Air India flight from London that landed at 12.05 am on Tuesday at the Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport in Amritsar.
The passengers and crew members were asked to stay put at the airport for more than 12 hours until the results of their RT-PCR tests came in.
The delay in testing led to high tempers at the airport as the passengers entered into an argument with the officials. Meanwhile, their relatives waiting outside raised anti-government slogans.
Gurpreet and Labh were cremated in the village Tuesday evening.
“Gurpreet Singh was a marginal farmer with one and a half-acre of land. His sister is married. He had gone to Delhi along with other farmers of the village on December 11,” said Sucha Singh, worker of Krantikari Kisan Union( KKU) from Patiala. All the farmers were from KKU.
Labh Singh’s has three children who are married. He was farming on 5 acres of land.
After the accident, Haryana Petrol Pump Dealers Association announced that all petrol pump owners of the state will make arrangements for farmers to stopover for the night at highway petrol pumps so that they can avoid travelling during night hours. “This decision was taken after the post-midnight accident near Karnal,” said Sanjeev Chaudhary, president of the association.
