The Punjab government has rescinded an earlier order that provided vaccines to people between the ages of 18 and 44 via private hospitals.
A freshly issued order directed private hospitals to return all the doses available to them; they will also have to replace any doses already used from future supplies.

Chandigarh, June 3 : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Badal on Thursday demanded a high court monitored probe into the manner in which the Congress government in Punjab was playing with the people s lives by creating an artificial shortage of vaccines by selling vaccine doses at a hefty profit to private hospitals.
The SAD president told the media here that a case should be registered against Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu for diverting vaccines meant for the common man to private institutions even as he averred that the issue had the makings of a major scam.
Punjab's opposition party SAD on Thursday accused the state's Congress government of "diverting" Covid vaccines to private hospitals at "hefty margins".
Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Wednesday said that analyses of health experts have indicated that diabetes is a major risk factor in the cases of Mucormycosis, commonly known as Black Fungus.
