Two people who fled from Melbourne Airport after being told they d have to do 14 days of quarantine will each be fined A$19,000 (NZ$20,358).
The 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman from NSW arrived in Melbourne on Friday morning on a flight from Canberra.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty told the Herald Sun: They were spoken to by authorised officers and informed they would be required to quarantine for 14 days as per current CHO directions. The pair then ran from the officer, fleeing the airport, and were picked up by a vehicle outside.

Greater Sydney residents will be required to wear masks in certain indoor settings from midnight on Saturday night.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the measure on Saturday morning along with several other coronavirus restrictions, as the state recorded seven new locally-acquired COVID-19 cases.
People in Greater Sydney will have to wear masks at supermarkets, shopping centres, cinemas and indoor entertainment venues, on public transport, in beauty salons and hairdressers, places of worship and gaming areas.

SYDNEY: Wearing face masks will be mandatory in Australia s biggest city of Sydney as locally acquired COVID cases continue to grow.
The state of New South Wales (NSW), with Sydney as the capital city, said on Saturday that face masks will be mandatory in indoor settings such as shopping centers, public or shared transport, indoor entertainment, places of worship, and hair and beauty premises. Staff in hospitality venues must also wear face masks.
