Victoria has recorded an additional two cases of locally acquired COVID-19 after two people tested positive earlier on Monday morning.
Victorian health authorities announced on Monday morning they were investigating two “likely” cases of coronavirus in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
The two initial cases were linked and their close household contacts were subsequently tested which revealed two more cases confirmed by Health Minister Martin Foley.
Mr Foley said the original case was tested on Sunday after experiencing symptoms, and was soon followed at the centre by a male relative who was asymptomatic.
Daniel Andrews not interested in press conference ‘repeat performance’ 15/02/2021|2min
Premier Daniel Andrews was praised by the media for just doing his job and answering questions for 120 days straight during the second wave but he “wasn’t interested in repeating the performance” for even three days, says Paul Murray.
The entire state of Victoria was plunged into a five-day snap lockdown on Friday after just under 20 cases of coronavirus were detected and linked to the Holiday Inn quarantine facility.
“You remember when Daniel Andrews was getting a medal from the media because he did his job which was to stand there and allegedly answer questions during the second wave, which was totally caused by the problems in hotel quarantine which were totally the fault of his government,” Sky News host Paul Murray said.
He said not every workplace may reach 75 per cent, as many people might choose to continue working from home.
âThatâs the maximum number, it may be that we donât get to that number,â he said.

âThis is about individual employers, individual businesses, having consultations and discussions with their workers.
âMany Victorians will try and hang on to a portion of their week working from home, where that works with them and works for the boss.
âItâs very hard to predict where weâll get to in a lasting sense but what we wanted to do is not be an impediment to more people being back at work.â
