Nashik (Maharashtra): In a horrific incident, at least 22 patients died on ventilators in a Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) hospital after a sudden drop in pressure due to leakage in the oxygen supplies, officials said.
The incident took place in the Dr. Zakir Hussain Hospital run by the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled NMC, which is among the biggest civic bodies in the state, and one of the worst Covid-19 hotspots in the state.
Maharashtra s active caseload climbs to 6.95 lakh with 67,468 new cases; 568 more deaths in last 24 hours
Maharashtra registered 67,468 fresh Covid cases on Wednesday, taking the active case tally to 6,95,747. The state reported 568 fatalities, highest single-day deaths recorded so far.

Maharashtra reported 67,468 fresh cases on Wednesday. The test positivity rate in the state stands at 16.36 per cent.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra registered 586 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, its highest ever single-day spike in death count. With this, state s case fatality now stands at1.54 per cent.
