Italy plans to lift quarantine restrictions for travellers arriving from European countries, Britain and Israel as early as mid-May in a bid to revive the tourism industry, Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said on Saturday.
Quarantine requirement may be scrapped for those arriving from the United States from June, Di Maio said, after meeting Health Minister Roberto Speranza to discuss the easing of restrictions for countries where vaccination levels are high.

MILAN (Reuters) - Italy plans to lift quarantine restrictions for travellers arriving from European countries, Britain and Israel as early as mid-May in a bid to revive the tourism industry, Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said on Saturday.
Quarantine requirement may be scrapped for those arriving from the United States from June, Di Maio said, after meeting Health Minister Roberto Speranza to discuss the easing of restrictions for countries where vaccination levels are high.
Britons could head to Italy without having to quarantine on arrival as soon as mid-May - but will still be forced to self-isolate for 10 days on their return.

ROME, MAY 7 - Italy s Rt COVID contagion number has
risen from 0.85 to 0.89 in the weekly monitoring of the health
ministry and the Higher Health Institute (ISS), they said
