The general manager of the hotel at the centre of Perthâs latest quarantine leak says the security guard who contracted COVID-19, known as case 1001, was wearing personal protective equipment.
Perth Pan Pacificâs Rob Weedon was reluctant to answer questions about case 1001 but told 6PRâs Liam Bartlett he had seen CCTV footage of the guard on duty and he was wearing his PPE correctly.

Health authorities in Perth have identified 76 fresh venues, including a McDonald s and a KFC, that may have been exposed to coronavirus after two infected delivery drivers handed food to over 100 fast-food customers.

Western Australia has again recorded no new local coronavirus cases, raising hopes the state has avoided a widespread outbreak.

Premier Mark McGowan on Monday said WA Health had so far identified 58 close contacts and 26 had tested negative.
Seventeen of the close contacts went to cooking classes on 27 and 28 April at the Perth College of Business and Technology which was also attended by one of the housemates.

A quick Google search reveals a pack of N95 masks can cost anywhere from $5 to $20.
The Anzac Day long weekend lockdown cost the WA economy $70 million, according to the state government, though the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA estimates the lockdown and ensuing restrictions hit closer to $170 million.
WA needs to make N95 masks mandatory in its quarantine hotels.

The maths is simple: anyone who works in a quarantine hotel should be provided with N95 masks, because no matter the price to purchase or effort to implement their use, the alternative costs the state so much more.
