WESTFORD Concerns remain about the holiday season, when health officials fear the possibility of further increase in coronavirus cases.
The Board of Health heard updates at their most recent remote meeting Dec. 14.
Health Director Jeffrey Stephens issued a communication to all residents last week, following a Department of Public Health report showing the town in red, or highest risk.
The Health Department urges minimizing gatherings during seasonal festivities, noting the increase appears to come from household members and friends. Fatigue fears
Public Health Nurse Gail Johnson said, People are just COVID-fatigued. People are tired. They are tired of the rules, and all of this.but it is important we keep up with social distancing, mask-wearing and handwashing.

WESTFORD The town has reached the coronavirus red zone, or highest risk for the first time, prompting closure of some town facilities, and advisories from health officials.
Public Health Director Jeffrey Stephens said the rise may linked to changes in behavior, including residents staying inside more to keep warm. I think the current spike is in part related to Thanksgiving, but people are spending less time outside right now, Stephens said. The weather and holidays are definitely factors.
Keeping safe
Town Manager Jodi Ross said town employees remain working to provide services, but the Town Offices and Cameron Senior Center are closed to in-person services.
