14:39 | Lima, Apr. 1. The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has extended the suspension of flights from the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Brazil from April 1 to 15, 2021 as a preventive measure to limit the risk of infection from new COVID-19 variants.
This was established by Ministerial Resolution 291-2021-MTC/01 which was published on Wednesday in the official gazette El Peruano.
Additionally, this suspension occurs as a result of the continuous analysis carried out by the sector in coordination with various instances of the Executive Branch on the international trend regarding restrictions on air operations.
In the face of the health situation, various countries in the region and Europe have imposed limited and targeted restrictions on countries that have reported a outbreak of new COVID-19 variants, such as the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Brazil, the statement reads.
