The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit could more than quadruple the number of people receiving the COVID-19 vaccine on a daily basis, if it had the supply.
Andrea McLellan, director of COVID-19 Immunization Strategy with the health unit, said it hasn’t received any additional vaccines besides the allotment promised.

She wouldn’t confirm how many vaccine doses the health unit has or is receiving in its next allocation.
“At this point in time we haven’t been allocated any additional vaccines above what we are already aware we would be receiving,” she said.

More than 80 workers employed by the agency that co-ordinates health care in Brant, Haldimand, Hamilton and Niagara were paid $100,000 or more in 2020.
Figures made available through the public salary disclosure show 83 people at the Local Health Integration Network made the organization’s so-call Sunshine List. The LHIN had 81 employees on the list in 2019 and 72 in 2018.

Local patients are expected to benefit with the expansion of the spinal surgery program.
The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has partnered with Lake of the Woods District Hospital to bring the service to Kenora.
The move will ensure local patients receive surgical care and successfully recover closer to home and help eliminate COVID barriers such as travel, accommodation and care-giving.
