Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, December 29) The Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Health are still at a loss on the details surrounding the underground vaccination program involving President Rodrigo Duterte s security personnel conducted several weeks ago, especially since no COVID-19 vaccines are allowed to be used in the country.
FDA Director General Eric Domingo on Tuesday said they are still investigating what vaccine was injected on the entire Presidential Security Group, where the unregistered drugs came from, and who administered the shots. The inoculation of Duterte s security detail came to light only on Monday. He said FDA and DOH were not informed about the activity, which even surprised Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
The Department of Health (DOH) will await the official announcement of the United States regarding a reported case of the new coronavirus strain in Colorado before including them in the travel ban.

I would like to defer to the regulatory agency, the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] under the director general to conduct [a] full investigation of these alleged donated vaccines that were used, Duque said in an interview on CNN Philippines. He added that the Bureau of Customs may also form a composite team to investigate the matter to get answers on how the unauthorized COVID-19 vaccine was imported, distributed, and administered among members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG).

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, Domingo said the regulatory enforcement unit has yet to submit a report but pointed out they are looking into more details about the vaccination. “Gusto ko po talaga malaman yung detalye kung paano po ang nangyari,” said Domingo, also undersecretary of the Department of Health. “Saan ba nanggaling ang bakuna?
